After studying at the National School for Decorative Arts of Paris, he mastered the techniques of stained and engraved glass. When he returned from the war, he became one of the most active glassmakers and re-constructors. Max Ingrand worked with Gio Ponti and collaborated with many of the leading Italian design firms of the mid-20th century. In the 1950s, he became the artistic director of light and furniture making in Fontana Arte, and his lighting designs are considered among the finest examples of modernist lighting design. Max Ingrand’s work is characterized by its strong geometric forms and the interplay between light and shadow. \n\u003cbr\u003eMax Ingrand designed the coffe table 1774 in a white lacquered metal with inlaid vertical brass trims along its four legs. Thick glass placed on top of the lens-shaped table top  creates an optical effect and distorted reflections.
